Beef Recalled After Cases of Poisoning

A California food company is recalling more than 153,000 pounds of frozen ground beef. The recall follows an E. coli outbreak that shut down a Boy Scout camp in Virginia and sickened at least 22 people.
The meat, which comes from S&S Foods, was intended for institutional use and food service companies, which normally supply restaurants, and wasn’t sold at the retail level.
The link to beef was discovered through an investigation by the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service and the Virginia Department of Health.
